LENEXA, KAN. — Midas Hospitality has opened a new dual-branded AC Hotel and Residence Inn by Marriott at Lenexa City Center, bringing 261 rooms and suites to one of the Kansas City region’s growing mixed-use destinations.

Developed and operated by Midas Hospitality, the project brings together two distinct Marriott experiences serving business travelers, extended-stay guests, families, groups and leisure travelers. The development also includes approximately 11,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space being represented for lease by Copaken Brooks, further contributing to the walkable, mixed-use environment of Lenexa City Center.

“Lenexa City Center has become a true destination, and we wanted to develop a hotel that complements what is happening here,” said J.T. Norville, co-founder and CEO of St. Louis-based Midas Hospitality. “Bringing AC Hotel and Residence Inn together gives us two distinct experiences that serve different travelers while adding to the energy of City Center for business, dining, meetings and community events.”

Located at 8710 Penrose Lane, the AC Hotel features 132 rooms, contemporary design, upscale amenities, onsite dining and meeting space. The AC Lounge provides a social gathering place for hotel guests, visitors and the local community.

The Residence Inn features 129 apartment-style suites designed for longer stays, with fully equipped kitchens, complimentary breakfast and residential-style amenities that give guests additional space, flexibility and comfort while traveling.

Together, the two hotels provide guests with access to the amenities and experiences of Lenexa City Center while offering convenient access to the greater Kansas City metro area.

“Midas Hospitality has been an integral partner in making Lenexa City Center the vibrant downtown our community envisioned nearly 30 years ago,” said Lenexa Mayor Julie Sayers. “The opening of the AC Hotel and Residence Inn by Marriott is a clear indication that our community is more than just a suburb – it is a destination. We thank Midas Hospitality for their investment and for their continued partnership in making Lenexa’s vision a reality.”

Lenexa City Center is a 200-acre mixed-use district that serves as Lenexa’s downtown and is designed around a walkable live-work-play environment. The district includes Lenexa City Hall, Lenexa Public Market, Lenexa Rec Center, Lenexa Farmers Market, Lenexa City Center Library and the Shawnee Mission School District’s 1,200-seat competitive aquatics facility, along with restaurants, retail, offices and residential development.

A total of 4,074 square feet of prime retail or restaurant space remains available.
