Meet Some of our Leadership Team

Eric Goettelmann – President – Midas Capital 

Eric leads Midas’ investment operations, underwriting and equity funding. He has 10+ years accounting and finance experience as well as an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis.

Eric has a growing family with his wife, Jackie, who also owns and operates the beloved boutique, Milk & Honey, based in Wildwood, MO.


Stephen Metherd – VP of Development

Steve is responsible for real estate development functions including site selection, master planning, zoning, design, construction, financial analysis, and overall project management. He holds a BA in Architecture from the University of Kansas and MBA from Washington University. Steve is a registered architect in the state of Missouri, enjoys home improvement, cooking, golf, and snow skiing.


Ryan Blum – General Counsel

Ryan is responsible for all legal, risk and compliance functions, as well as supporting interrelated business affairs and the strategic initiatives of the enterprise. He earned his BS in International Business from Northwest Missouri State and his MBA and JD from Saint Louis University. He is a certified Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist. Ryan is married to his wife, Jennifer, and has three daughters. He enjoys golf, music and reading.


Capital Team

Jared Stinehagen – Head of Asset Management

Jared joins Midas Capital with over a decade of commercial real estate experience in multiple asset classes. His work in sales, brand development, operational management, real estate investing, and asset management have resulted in more than $900MM in acquisitions and development. From his experience identifying, underwriting and leading the asset management of acquisitions and developments throughout the investment lifecycle, he brings a wholistic approach to drive value for each property and fund. Similarly, Jared brings operational management expertise to the team and works to ensure the investment group optimizes workflow and communication to increase investment opportunities for Midas Capital. Jared serves as Vice President of the Board for Cecilia’s Advice, a non-profit in Indianapolis serving the National Phelan-McDermid Foundation. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Webster University in St. Louis.

Marco Zhang – Investment Associate

Marco has nearly 15 years of financial analysis, business development and asset management background in the hospitality industry. Prior to joining Midas Hospitality, he served in various managerial capacities in the United States, Hong Kong, and China. Marco earned his Master of Management degree in Hospitality with a concentration on Real Estate Finance and Investment from the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. He is also Charted Financial Analyst (CFA) with extensive skill sets in equity research and corporate finance.


Patrick Cronin – Project Manager, Owner’s Representative

With extensive experience in profit and loss planning, management, and sales, Patrick brings a unique set of skills as an owner’s representative. He has more than a decade of military leadership and management across the globe working with international teams through the Marine Corps and now United States Army Reserves. He earned his BBA, MA, and MBA from Webster University in St. Louis. Patrick enjoys spending time with family, sports, traveling, and yard work. He is an avid shooting sports enthusiast and delights in trying a new beer or cigar.


Greg Sobeck – Project Manager, Owner’s Representative

Greg brings decades of project management acumen through coordination of architects, engineers, and third-party consultants. His support of real estate development spans hospitality, multi-family residential, and retail projects. He attended the United States Merchant Marine Academy earning a BS of Marine/Mechanical Engineering and served as a United States Merchant Marine Officer. Greg enjoys being with his family, tinkering in the garage, and fishing.


Chris Holtsman – Assistant Project Manager

Between supply chain management, construction management, and a strategic mindset, Chris is equipped to assist in project management efforts. He attended the University of Missouri in St. Louis where he received his BS in Business Management. He served in the United States Marine Corps in supply chain management. Chris enjoys a round of golf, bowling, hunting, and assists with youth soccer, wresting, baseball and tennis.


Andrew Bardot – Controller

Andy oversees the accounting department and financial reporting. He attended Washington University in St. Louis earning a BSBA, and the University of Missouri where he completed his MBA. Andy is also a Certified Public Accountant. He enjoys golf, the St. Louis Cardinals and traveling with his wife, Megan and their daughter Cordelia.


Angie Becker – Accounting Manager

Angie oversees all monthly and yearly financial reporting for our properties. She holds over 15 years of accounting experience and earned her BS at Iowa State University where she grew up. Angie is an avid Cyclone fan and enjoys quilting.


Peter Kim – Project Accountant

Peter monitors project progress, investigates variances, approves expenses, and ensures that project billings are issued. He prepares monthly financial statements for specific entities and has a focus on cash projections to effectively manage balances. He received his MBA from Maryville University and is a Certified Public Accountant. Peter is a fan of all thing’s sports.


Andrew Thompson – Capital Markets Associate

Andrew is a key point of contact and liaison with our investors and banking partners. He earned a BS in Business Administration from the University of Missouri in Columbia. Andrew likes watching Mizzou and any St. Louis sports teams. He enjoys golfing and trying out new local restaurants.


Lucas Kupfer – Junior Analyst

Lucas primarily focuses on researching and gathering financial data, creating a strong support system for our Analysts making it possible for goal achievement. He attended Webster University in St. Louis Missouri where he earned a BA in Economics, and a BA in Management. Lucas enjoys music, fitness, and a competitive chess game.


Nolan Herbst – Junior Analyst

Nolan assists with the overall analysis of our properties. His focus is on the forecasting of future performance, and research of future projects and markets. Nolan attended Missouri S&T in Rolla Missouri where he earned his BS in Economics. He enjoys playing golf, fishing, and watching sports.

Midas Hotel Fund

The Midas Hotel Fund seeks to invest in well-positioned hotels with multiple demand generators (“Core-Plus”), existing cash flows with minimal capital improvements needed, targeting the top 150 MSAs throughout the Midwest and Southern regions. Additionally, up to 25% of the fund may invest in development opportunities with strong potential for enhanced yields (“Light, Value-Add”.)
